I am a member of Sarah’s excellent Pilates Class which helps my back and joint problems. During a period of acute back pain when I was unable to attend class, Sarah offered to develop a Programme for my specific problem which I could access online, at home.

My Individual Programme was clearly written, comprehensive and easy to follow. I found the exercises extremely helpful in recovering from my acute episode. The Programme helped relieve periods of pain and gave me confidence to stay mobile. 

Sarah was understanding of my problem and is very knowledgeable and caring.  She kept in regular contact with me, she was also able to monitor my progress through the Programme online, and was very supportive and encouraging. Regular contact with Sarah also meant I felt still included in the Pilates Group.  I would certainly recommend the individual programme she wrote for me and also her superb, welcoming group classes.”

I have been attending Sarah’s Pear Shaped Pilates for the past few months. I have been to other Pilates classes but nothing compares to hers. The classes are always challenging, rewarding and above all fun. I absolutely love my Wednesday night class.
Since going I have improved my flexibility - something that has greatly reduced due to age and the menopause! I have also improved my breathing and am more conscious of stretching and taking care of my posture
I cannot recommend her classes enough.I also love that there are extra classes and events as in the well-being afternoons that Sarah organises. They are well organised with great food, a Pilates and mindfulness session and lots of information about the body and wellbeing. I can’t wait for the next one which will also cover the menopause.
Now on to Sarah herself - well what can I say. I do not have enough adjectives to describe this lovely lady. Sarah is down to earth, welcoming, funny, kind, caring, knowledgable and a joy to be around. She knows her stuff and she makes classes fun and inclusive. Sarah should be on prescription from the NHS!

I am a beginner to Pilates never having done Pilates before,  Sarah provides a relaxed atmosphere in her classes, with encouragement,  support, excellent instructions and humour that makes one feel at ease and also promotes confidence to try new positions.

 Sarah offers advice and direction to ensure the moves are carried out correctly and effectively on an individual basis.

I have arthritis in one knee, Sarah remembers this and tailors some movements with advice to ensure my problem is not exacerbated by a movement that will cause pain and discomfort. 

I feel refreshed and proud that I am taking part in pilates, perhaps feeling that it was something that I couldn't do before I joined the group. 

Sarah promotes a bond between other members of the group and we find mutual support and encouragement invaluable. 

We chat about life events and what has happened to us in the previous week. We are encouraged to share our feelings, thoughts and experiences. 

Sarah also provides extra curricular activities in the way of study ,relaxing sessions that look after your holistic needs with other activities, that promote good health and introduce you to experiences that are new to you.

I thoroughly enjoy Sarah 's pilates sessions and see my weekly sessions being part of my life for a very long time. I enjoy the sessions very much and am eager to attend.  J.

Two years ago, I joined Sarah’s Pilates group. I was recovering from a car accident two year previous; I was in pain all the time, morbidly obese, no balance, stiff, unable to bend down, mobility issues, falling over, struggling to undress/ dress myself, unable to carry things or go shopping on my own. My physiotherapist had given me the ok to start Pilates with strict instructions not to over do it. Sarah stripped the moves down to bare bones, taking the time to explain to me, help me get into the right position. Over time the moves were gradually built up, extended. I only expected to get a bit more bendy, I developed upper body strength, my balance improved, my mobility improved, my physiotherapist discharged me due to the massive improvements from attending Sarah’s classes. I have lost 5 stone; I have my life back. I can touch my toes, that’s my party trick lol - LB

"I am a 63 yr old lady, self employed as a riding coach for over 45 years. My job is physical, and I like to still ride my own horse and still have the ability to ride my clients' horses to understand them better. I had a hip replacement 2 years ago and a total hysterectomy 15 years ago. My strength and flexibility is not what it was, though I have always been reasonably supple as riding requires it. However, since attending both the online (and face to face when allowed last year) Pear shape pilates, I have seen massive improvement in my range of movement, general suppleness and strength. Much of what Sarah teaches in relation to posture is very similar to what I teach my riders, so I find it fascinating to work on myself off the horse. Today I worked my horse and for the first time in some months I found I was able to be effective and more co ordinate with the aids I gave. Sarah is an excellent coach and motivates us all - LH

I’ve been taking Pilates classes with Sarah since September 2019 and I have noticed a significant difference in the way that my body feels. I was suffering from a poorly shoulder with terrible mobility and pain. I couldn't lift my arm more than 45degrees. I signed up for 3 sessions a week with Sarah and within a few weeks I was already feeling so much better. It was amazing how much I improved. Sarah is a supportive and intuitive instructor. She offers alternative movements when you can't quite make something. But above all she encourages you to move and it works. I'm so grateful for her support, it really made a difference in my quality of life.

I was fortunate enough to join Sarah's "Pear Shaped Pilates" class last year before lockdown began. At class you are always told to work to your own limits and you are never made to feel intimidated by your lack of ability, size,shape or age ( which is very pertinent to me as someone who is 21 for the third time around!!) Sarah has been amazing through lockdown, which must have been challenging for her business. She provides classes over Zoom and video classes which kept me healthy both physically and mentally.
